England

The Parkgate Pony Sanctuary, England
Registered Charity No 1069512

The sanctuary offers a safe haven for the ageing, infirm, mistreated and neglected horse and ponies in the Wirral and Cheshire area.  The area has a huge equine population and unfortunately there are still a lot of horses and ponies who, through illness and neglect or ignorance of humans, need a safe knowledgeable, loving environment in which to live out the rest of their lives.  Large or small, old or young, the beautiful or not so beautiful.

Pony & Horse Sponsorships

A small donation will help to provide feed, health care, equipment and foot care for the pony. You will receive a photograph, biography of the pony, and a certificate of sponsorship.  If you are local to us, you will also be able to visit the pony if you wish. We have an sponsorship file full of photographs and biography’s of each horse.

Featured Sponsorship Horse - Saahi
Saahi is Arabic for faithful friend, he is our half a million dollar ex-racehorse. Once owned by Sheik Mohammed, Saahi is a handsome bay colored 12 year old American thoroughbred standing 16 hands high. The impact of racing took its toll on his limbs, hot firing failed and he continued to have bouts of lameness. Therefore, Saahi was sold from owner to owner. Saahi is now a very happy horse, he loves to roll upside down in the mud. He had to learn to communicate, with the other horses, learning their language; as he was never allowed to socialize before.
